Dr. Mabel Miguel

Professor of Organizational Behavior and Strategy

Using technology to bridge geographical and cultural barriers is the focus of management professor Mabel Miguel’s research. International HR management, organizational behavior, multicultural management and leadership skills, and global career management are other areas of teaching and research interest.

A citizen of the world, Dr. Miguel is uniquely qualified to direct the Office of International Programs and to lead UNC Kenan-Flagler students on Global Immersion Electives to South America and East Asia. Born in Buenos Aires, she has lived in Venezuela, Barbados, France and Turkey, where she was a visiting professor at Koc University in Istanbul. She speaks Spanish and English fluently and is proficient in French.

Dr. Miguel has developed and taught management skills courses for such organizations as Garanti Bankasi and for BriSA in Istanbul. She has co-designed behavioral and computer simulations for such clients as GlaxoSmithKline, the American Banking Institute, the National Council for Savings Institutions, the Center for Creative Leadership, Citibank and Dow Jones.

She received her PhD from UNC-Chapel Hill and her MBA and BS from New York University.
