Minimum qualifications

Substantial work experience: Minimum seven years of work experience is required. We look for current or expected global management responsibilities.  We occasionally consider an exceptional candidate with less experience who is nominated by a senior executive from his or her company.

Education background: You must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Applicants with professional and other academic qualifications and an extensive track record will also be considered. We evaluate your ability to perform from your academic transcripts and interview.

GMAT: If your degree or professional qualification was originally taught in English, the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is optional. However, we recommend taking the test if your academic records do not show strong quantitative skills.

English language skills: English is the language used for all OneMBA courses and communications. You must demonstrate your English language proficiency in one of these ways:

  • Earned a degree from a university in Hong Kong or an English speaking country
  • Obtained a recognized professional qualification awarded in Hong Kong or an English-speaking country
  • Completed one of these tests and submitted the scores for assessment: TOEFL, GMAT, College English Test (CET) from the PRC, or IELTS
  • Passed one of the following examinations in English: Hong Kong Advanced Level Exam (AS Level), Hong Kong Higher Level Exam, or CUHK Matriculation Exam

Business skills: You will need basic knowledge of accounting, statistics, finance, and economics. You should also be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, including financial and statistical functions.
