Join us October 7-9, 2010 for a visit to Istanbul where we will experience this compelling, emerging economy that bridges Europe and Asia. Istanbul is the world’s 5th largest city and the cultural and financial heart of Turkey. Once the seat of the Roman, Byzantine, Latin, and Ottoman empires, Istanbul in 2010 is officially the European Capital of Culture.
The Alumni Board and the Events Committee lead by Tibor Sotkovski (FGV ’06) and Joseph Cheung (CUHK ‘07) have put together a very special tour for us.
Working with Invest in Turkey, we will take you to the operations of two important, emerging companies in Turkey, as well as help you understand Turkey’s role in the world economy through interesting academic lectures.
For the cultural component we will explore highlights of this empire from the Romans to the Ottomans, the famed Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia, the largest cathedral in the world. We will have two unforgettable excursions, a dinner cruise to the Bosphorus (a Wonder of the World) and Kumpafi.
Our alumni reunion will afford alums and their guests opportunities for learning about business, cultural excursions, and relaxed socializing, the hallmark of our time together. Our reunion would not be complete without fabulous nightlife. So Tibor and our alums on the ground will take us to the hottest clubs.
For those for whom sleep is important and want affordable luxury, we have selected the Eresin Taxim Premier Hotel, a recently renovated, 4-star accommodation in the heart of town in a great neighborhood.
